Some users may still encounter errors with their SSL certificates on supported Operating Systems. In most cases the SSL certificate will need to be reinstalled to ensure the device is using the correct certificate.

Logging into cPanel

In order to reissue your SSL certificate, you will need to be logged into cPanel.

How to reissue your SSL certificate:

Click on "SSL/TLS"

Click on "Manage SSL Sites"

Find the Domain name that is presenting the issue and Click on "Use Certificate for New site"

Click on the "Domain" dropdown and click on the domain name used in the previous step.

Click "Install Certificate"

How to force a site to use SSL ( HTTPS:// )

We all want to stay safe on the internet and it's easier to do so when SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is in use. SSL ensures that all communications between your web browser and the site you are visiting is encrypted. Sites using SSL will usually show a green or secure/locked padlock at the start of your browsers address bar.

This article shows you how to have the webserver force all connections to your site over SSL, this means all connections will be made using https:// instead of http://. Keeping your information safe from hackers.

| Prior to completing these steps, you need to ensure that a valid SSL certificate is in place for the domain you want to force SSL on.This can be a purchased (Extended Validation or EV) SSL certificate or a free Let's Encrypt (Domain Validation or DV) certificate. Do I have to pay extra?

No! MailChannels is paid for by us and you can simply reap the benefits of the system by using your services as you did before!

I am using you for DNS and hosting. Do I need to make any changes?

No! If you are using both our hosting and DNS services, we will automatically manage the rollout for you where possible. If for any reason we are unable to do this for you, we will contact you separately and discuss an implementation strategy.

Does MailChannels store my email data?

No! Email messages are processed by the MailChannels system and then relayed on to the destination. The system does not store any email content or header data.

What is an SPF Record?

An SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record is a DNS record added to your domain name, that instructs the internet which servers are allowed to send messages from your domain name. This is used in part, to determine whether a message has been spoofed or is a spam message when receiving an email.

Submitting and receiving sensitive data in a support ticket

What is sensitive data and why is it used?

There are likely to be occasions we will need to exchange sensitive data with you. We may ask you to send us some login details - or we may need to send you an updated password for example. In these cases we will request that you send these via the "Sensitive data" portion of the ticket submission/reply form.

The data that is sent via the sensitive data section is end to end encrypted and is removed after the ticket has been closed.

Replying to an existing ticket

Once a ticket is open you can supply additional sensitive data by clicking the Add Sensitive Data button
